Overall I recommend The Taste of her Blood to paranormal romance booklovers who enjoys reading a good mysterious novel having dark alleys and dark creatures hiding behind human faces.A single year in the vast timeline of Himalayan history is all but insignificant. Though author attempts to introduce new concept of human vessel ,I feel she can very well execute new fantasy creatures. And the moment I realised that the paranormal factor in this is a vampire, I felt a bit disappointed probably because I have already read all the vampire related novels as well as movies.Be it Vampire Diaries or The Twilight Saga, even Ekta Kapoor’s Pyaar ki Yeh Ek Kahani (B grade copy of Twilight Saga). Though I feel that Taste Of Her Blood lacked the level of mystery Himalayan Demon, her previous work had. That makes the narration more focused and intense. The one quality I really appreciate about RH Rose’s work is the set of limited characters she uses. The character of Amit was also interesting ,as his existence dwindled between being Vishwa’s best friend and the one who showed parent like concern for Tina’s wellbeing. The chemistry presented between Vishwa and Tina is vicious and other worldly and is proved further into the narration as the plot develops. The author has beautifully woven a plot that has an underlying mystery to it. Taste of her Blood began as a simple story revolving around two individuals who will do anything to stay away from each other but eventually transcends into a tale of a world marred by blood and secrets. What conditions can make such a deal seem sensible? They are bound by this stupid contract their dying adults put them into which doesn’t make any sense at all. The Taste of Her Blood is set upon the backdrop of a strange deal done between the guardians of our protagonist -Vishwa and Tina.

I have read some of her previous works and loved the intensity and mystery she effortlessly delivers through the genre of paranormal romance fiction. Today’s book of the day is The Taste of Her Blood by RH Rose. As much creative liberty this genre provides an author, the creation of a character (paranormal one) that relates to an audience already aware of the multitude of creatures is not an easy task.This genre requires a special magical quality that transcends throughout the plot.

Though it is unfair to completely endorse this genre in these lines.

And some stories drop us right in the middle of eerie woods.A story that is set upon the backdrop of dark wilderness,shady men ,weird iconography and forced coincidences makes a genre known as paranormal fiction.A fiction if executed with perfection delivers a narration with an irresistible mystery and the intensity is literally palpable.īasically this genre includes all the vampire, werewolf and shapeshifter plots enhanced by heavily laden sensual energies between the protagonists.
